ABOUT PINO FARINA BAND
Adult-alternative rockers, Pino Farina Band, are known for their showmanship, high-energy performances as well as tender, intimate songs. Lead singer and lyricist Pino Farina’s powerhouse voice is his true instrument and is often compared to that of late indie-artist Jeff Buckley’s. His five-octave voice range envelops one’s heart as he and the band take listeners through trials, tribulations, and redemption in their songs. They bring an energetic mix of an extensive original music catalog to the stage as well as beloved covers.
After touring the country extensively as the award-winning band Pünsapaya (Chicago Music Awards, 2005 Rock Album of the Year) with their debut album Prepare to Qualify, they stepped away for a time of rediscovery as artists, songwriters and performers. In 2018, the band released Start Over Again and have been enthusiastically welcomed back by long-time fans and a new musical community.
The Pino Farina Band has performed in raucous music halls, at intimate listening rooms, on festival stages, and even inside a barn. This journey also led them back into the studio and in 2021 the Daisies EP was released. Not a sweet flower of an album, but a “pushing up daisies” collection of songs dealing with self-doubt, relationship struggles, rock bottoms and situations where life turns on a dime. But never does Pino Farina Band leave you mired there. The songs and the band’s optimism inherent in their music reassures that redemption and renewal are on the way. In addition to the EP, single releases include Say Goodbye to Mexico (2019), Shiver (2021), Run Out (2021), River (2022), and Perfect Sky (2023). Next up is the re-issuing their early works from The Vault in 202
