Rolling through the “Decade of Decadence” like a 50-ton freight train, iconic bands such as Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, and Poison (to mention only a few) made the 1980’s a musical era the likes of which we’re doubtful to see again. Millions upon millions of records were sold, and concert venues around the world sold out within seconds when these bands were announced as headliners…

In 2001, lamenting the heyday of hairbands, one Chicago band sought to rekindle the flame for these Gods of Rock by tapping into the nostalgic and undeniable energy of that bygone era. They called themselves Hairbanger’s Ball.

We dedicate ourselves to replicating the Classic Lynyrd Skynyrd sound and performances of years gone by – replicating the nuances and stage presence of the band behind such Classics as That Smell, Gimme Three Steps, Sweet Home Alabama, and the Timeless and Epic…..Freebird!

We strive for authenticity in every aspect of our stage show- from the clothing , to using only period correct instruments, and even amplifiers just like the vintage Skynyrd band.

My name is Marc Robert Esses, but I also perform under the name MESSES. I am an international touring drummer / singer / DJ / producer / entertainer. I’m 35 years old and I have been playing drums/entertaining for over 23 years. I was born and raised in the north suburbs of Chicago where I still reside. I’ve played drums in 28 different countries and play all over the USA. I am a DJ as well and perform all over the Chicagoland area in my free time.

The musicians in Hillbilly Rockstarz grew up with the love of country and rock n' roll music. Each member brings a unique musical aesthetic to the band and over the years they have grown comfortable with mixing it up!

Adding genres and mashing up influences from Pop, Rock and Dance combined with our high energy live music keeps our fans dancing all night long.

Country music is the bands first love, however as music lovers and people pleasers they will surprise you with something for everybody!
